Salah’s Trabzonspor Fined as Some Fans Banned From Two Away Games

Trabzonspor, the Turkish club reportedly featuring Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, have suffered a fresh setback ahead of their upcoming match against Gaziantep after the Turkish Football Federation announced financial penalties and fan restrictions following incidents during their recent league encounter with Rizespor.
The disciplinary action comes after Trabzonspor's dramatic 4-3 victory over Rizespor.
The match was overshadowed by inappropriate chants and other incidents involving supporters, prompting the federation's disciplinary committee to impose significant fines and restrictions on certain fans attending future away matches.
Heavy Fines and Fan Restrictions
The Turkish Football Federation's disciplinary committee fined Trabzonspor 670,000 Turkish lira following offensive and inappropriate chants by sections of their supporters during the match against Rizespor.
According to the committee, this was the fifth similar violation involving Trabzonspor supporters during away matches this season.
As a result, the authorities imposed stricter sanctions under Article 53/2 of the football disciplinary regulations.
The punishment also includes restrictions on electronic tickets for supporters who were present in the designated away section and participated in the offensive chants.
Those supporters will be prevented from attending Trabzonspor's next two away matches.
In addition, the disciplinary committee imposed a separate fine of 1.4 million Turkish lira for other incidents involving the club's supporters during the game.
These penalties bring Trabzonspor's total fines to 2.07 million Turkish lira.
Rizespor were also punished following the same match.
Their supporters have been banned from attending the club's next home fixture because of offensive chanting.
Meanwhile, Rizespor coach Ekrem Dağ received a one-match suspension preventing him from entering the dressing room or sitting on the substitutes' bench during an official match.
He was also fined 850,000 Turkish lira following comments made after the encounter.
Trabzonspor Prepare for Gaziantep Clash
The sanctions come as Trabzonspor prepare to face Gaziantep on Sunday at Papara Park in the tenth round of the Turkish league.
Despite securing an important 4-3 victory over Rizespor, the club now face additional challenges following the disciplinary decisions.
The restrictions will affect certain supporters during the team's next two away fixtures, while the financial penalties add further pressure on the club.
On the sporting side, the report also highlighted Mohamed Salah's challenge of scoring consistently away from Papara Park.
Although the Egyptian forward reportedly found the net against Amed Sportif away from home, he has failed to score in several other away matches.
Trabzonspor will be hoping to continue their positive results when they host Gaziantep, with home advantage offering an opportunity to maintain their momentum.
The team will also be looking to move beyond the recent disciplinary controversy and focus on their performances in the Turkish league.
For Trabzonspor, the immediate priority is to remain competitive, maintain consistency and secure another important victory despite the challenges surrounding the club.
