Achraf Dari Pushes for a Starting Role as Amouta Plans His Return Before Zamalek Derby

Moroccan defender Achraf Dari is looking for a fresh opportunity to return to Al Ahly’s starting lineup after speaking directly with head coach Hussein Ammouta, while the technical staff continues to follow a special plan aimed at preparing him for the coming matches.
Dari wants to use the Egypt Capital Cup as a chance to regain his place in the team. The defender needs more playing time before Al Ahly return to league action and enter an important run of domestic and African fixtures.
Dari Pushes for a Start
Achraf Dari held a meeting with Hussein Ammouta on Thursday that lasted around 15 minutes. During the conversation, the Moroccan defender discussed his situation and asked for the chance to start against Petrol Assiut in the Egypt Capital Cup.
Dari told the head coach that he is ready to play and continues to follow the instructions given to him in training as he looks to earn more minutes during the coming period.
His request comes while Al Ahly’s coaching staff is already working to improve his condition. A special training program was prepared for Dari during the international break to raise his physical and technical readiness before the team returns to competitive action.
The coaching staff also plans to use the Egypt Capital Cup to give opportunities to players who have not featured regularly, which could make the tournament an important new starting point for Dari.
Derby in Sight
Preparing Dari is not only about the Capital Cup, with Al Ahly also looking ahead to their Egyptian Premier League derby against Zamalek, scheduled for October 11 at Cairo International Stadium.
Al Ahly have been dealing with absences in defence because of injuries, increasing the importance of having more defensive options available for the next stage of the season.
The Petrol Assiut match could therefore give Dari an important opportunity to show his physical and technical readiness if Ammouta decides to use him, particularly with the Zamalek derby following shortly afterwards.
The coming period could be decisive for the Moroccan defender. Dari has made his desire to return clear, while the coaching staff is working to help him regain match fitness and compete for a place in the team.
The final decision will remain with Ammouta and will depend on Dari’s performances in training and his overall readiness, but the Egypt Capital Cup could provide the defender with the opening he needs before Al Ahly begin a busy run of important domestic and African matches.
