Despite growing fan frustration, Liverpool FC have not yet made the decision to part ways with head coach Arne Slot, even after a series of disappointing results, including a heavy defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup.

The recent performances have put the Dutch coach under intense scrutiny, with supporters increasingly calling for his dismissal. Polls and stadium reactions clearly show that patience among fans is running out.

Board Backing and Need for Stability

However, the club’s leadership appears committed to maintaining stability. Slot’s previous success, including a league title, has earned him internal support, giving him some protection during this difficult period.

The board also believes that changing the manager at this stage of the season could create further disruption, especially with crucial matches still ahead in both domestic and European competitions.

Lack of a Clear Replacement

Another key factor is the absence of a clear and agreed-upon successor. While names like Xabi Alonso have been mentioned by fans, there is no confirmed plan in place.

Reports suggest that Slot still retains backing from within the club, with decision-makers willing to give him more time to turn things around, particularly with decisive fixtures approaching that could reshape the season.

Ultimately, Liverpool’s hesitation reflects a broader strategy — balancing long-term planning with short-term pressure, in what has become one of the club’s most challenging stretches this season.
