A Triple Boost for Al Ahly? ENPPI Demand 150m EGP for Three Players

The summer transfer window has started to heat up early in Egyptian football, after ENPPI’s trio became one of the main talking points over the past few hours. Strong reports have emerged claiming that Al Ahly have moved to secure the signatures of some of the petroleum club’s most promising talents, in a step that reflects the Red Castle’s desire to strengthen its squad with young players capable of making an impact in the future.
The story began with reports of a decisive meeting between Al Ahly’s recruitment officials and ENPPI trio Aqtay Abdullah, Hamed Abdullah, and Ali Mahmoud. According to these reports, the meeting ended with the players signing their desire to join Al Ahly, along with preliminary contracts that could pave the way for official negotiations between the two clubs in the coming period.
However, the matter did not pass quietly. ENPPI president Ayman El Sherei stepped in to address the circulating reports from his club’s point of view, stressing that the petroleum club’s management had not signed any transfer agreements involving the three players and had not received any official offers from Al Ahly or any other club so far.
A Signature Does Not Seal the Deal
Despite the strong reports suggesting that Al Ahly have obtained the trio’s signatures, this does not mean that their move to the Red Castle has been officially completed. The players are still tied to valid contracts with ENPPI, and any final step must go through the petroleum club, whether through direct negotiations or a clear financial agreement between the two administrations.
This is where the sensitivity of the situation becomes clear. Al Ahly may have moved early to secure the players’ desire, but ENPPI still hold the decisive say over the future of the deal, as the club has the legal right to sell or reject the departure of any player as long as his contract remains active.
Al Ahly’s interest in ENPPI players is not new to the club’s transfer policy. The Cairo giants have long monitored rising talents in the Egyptian Premier League, especially at clubs that give young players early opportunities to shine. ENPPI, in particular, has been one of the most important sources of talent in Egyptian football over the years, producing several players who later moved to top clubs or took steps toward playing abroad.
The names being discussed carry more than one indication. Al Ahly are not only looking for ready-made signings who can be used immediately, but also appear to be working on building future depth in their squad, especially amid the pressure of multiple competitions, congested seasons, and the need for young players who can develop within a highly competitive environment.
ENPPI Insist on the Official Route
ENPPI’s president delivered a clear message, even if he left the door open for what may happen later. The main point was that the club would not accept any approach to its players away from the management, and that any transfer must go through the official route. This stance appears logical, especially as the matter concerns three players at once, making the file bigger than just a player’s desire or a club’s interest.
At the same time, ENPPI’s denial does not necessarily mean that Al Ahly have no interest. It simply means that the deal has not yet reached the stage of official completion. Between the two versions, the reality is that the file has entered a heated phase and may turn into direct negotiations in the coming days if Al Ahly decide to turn their interest into an official offer.
For now, what is happening can be described as an early battle over signatures and desire, rather than a completed deal. Al Ahly want to stay ahead of their rivals in the talent market, while ENPPI are holding on to their right to manage the situation according to their technical and financial interests. Meanwhile, the three players find themselves in front of an opportunity that could move their careers into a completely different stage.
The coming days will be decisive in determining the fate of the story. The reported signatures may turn into official negotiations that end with a major deal between Al Ahly and ENPPI, or the matter may remain within the circle of media speculation, especially with the petroleum club continuing to deny any official agreement so far.
What is certain, however, is that the names of Aqtay Abdullah, Hamed Abdullah, and Ali Mahmoud have already stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight, becoming the center of one of the most intriguing transfer stories at the beginning of the summer.
