Egyptian football is set for a major transformation after the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the launch of two new football projects involving four clubs ahead of the upcoming season.

The initiative will see ENPPI join forces with El Sharqia, while Petrojet will combine with Montakhab El Suez as part of a wider plan aimed at modernising club management, attracting investment and strengthening the financial sustainability of Egyptian football.

Two New Projects Take Shape

The agreements were signed in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Gawhar Nabil and Egyptian Professional Clubs Association chairman Ahmed Diab.

According to the ministry, the partnerships pave the way for establishing two sports services companies that will manage, operate and invest in each project's football activities while improving administrative efficiency and long-term financial sustainability.

Following the announcement, El Sharqia confirmed that the club will compete in the Egyptian Premier League under the new name "El Sharqia ENPPI", marking the club's return to the top flight.

A New Model for Egyptian Football

Ahmed Diab described the agreements as an important step towards introducing a more professional model for Egyptian football and making better use of clubs' existing resources.

The initiative forms part of the Egyptian government's broader strategy to increase sports investment, improve club governance and create stronger financial foundations for domestic football.
