Greek club Levadiakos have announced the signing of Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny, giving the experienced midfielder a new professional challenge and marking his return to European football following the end of his spell with UAE side Al Jazira.
Elneny joins Levadiakos on a free transfer, adding another chapter to a long career outside Egypt after playing in several European leagues before moving to the UAE.
The Greek club will be hoping Elneny’s experience can strengthen their midfield during the coming period as they look to improve their results and position in the league standings.
European Return
The move to Levadiakos marks Mohamed Elneny’s return to European football after spending many years across different leagues, with his time at Arsenal standing out as the most notable spell of his career.

During his time with Arsenal, Elneny made 161 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists. He also won the FA Cup and lifted the Community Shield twice with the London club.
Elneny’s career was not limited to England. He also played in Switzerland and Turkey before later moving to Al Jazira in the UAE. His switch to Levadiakos now takes him back to European football through the Greek league.
Major Experience
Levadiakos will be hoping Elneny’s arrival gives the team an important boost, especially because the Egyptian midfielder has spent many years playing in major matches and highly competitive tournaments.
