Milwaukee overturned a four-run deficit to eliminate the defending champions and move within one series of their first MLB title.

The Milwaukee Brewers reached baseball’s World Series for the first time since 1982 after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 6–4 on Thursday to complete a four-game sweep.

The victory at Dodger Stadium secured the National League title and ended the Dodgers’ bid for a third consecutive World Series championship.

Milwaukee won all four games of a series that could have lasted seven.

Brewers Fight Back From 4–0 Down

The Dodgers built an early 4–0 lead, helped by a three-run home run from Shohei Ohtani, but Milwaukee fought back.

Jake Bauers helped spark the comeback before Garrett Mitchell’s sixth-inning home run put the Brewers ahead.

Bauers was named the series’ Most Valuable Player.

The result reversed last year’s outcome, when the Dodgers swept Milwaukee at the same stage.

This time, the Brewers celebrated securing their place in the championship series.

A First Championship in Sight

The World Series decides the Major League Baseball champion, bringing together the winners of the National League and American League in a best-of-seven contest.

Milwaukee’s only previous appearance came in 1982, when they lost to the St Louis Cardinals in seven games.

The Brewers have never won the championship.

They will face either the Cleveland Guardians or the Tampa Bay Rays, with the opening game scheduled for 23 October in Milwaukee.
