Mohamed Zakaria and Farida Mohamed Reach Silicon Valley Squash Finals

Egyptian squash continued to impress on the international stage as Mohamed Zakaria and Farida Mohamed secured their places in the finals of the Silicon Valley Squash Championship, taking place in the United States from October 20 to 25, with a total prize fund of $120,000.
The two Egyptian players reached the finals in very different ways.
Zakaria delivered an impressive straight-game victory over England's Mohamed ElShorbagy, while Farida had to fight through five games to defeat Marina Stefanoni in a close semifinal encounter.
Their success gives Egypt a chance to compete for both the men's and women's titles, continuing the country's strong presence in international squash.
Zakaria Dominates, Farida Battles
Mohamed Zakaria produced an excellent performance against Mohamed ElShorbagy in the men's semifinal, controlling the match from the beginning and securing a convincing 3-0 victory.
The Egyptian won the three games 11-3, 11-7 and 11-7, showing consistency and control throughout the contest.
Zakaria kept the pressure on his opponent and did not allow ElShorbagy to find a way back into the match.
His impressive victory earned him a place in the final and marked one of the standout results of the semifinal round.
In the women's competition, Farida Mohamed faced a much tougher challenge against Marina Stefanoni, with the match going all the way to a deciding fifth game.
Farida started strongly by winning the opening game 11-3, but Stefanoni responded by taking the second 11-4.
The Egyptian regained the lead with an 11-6 victory in the third game, before Stefanoni fought back again to win the fourth by the same score.
With the match tied at 2-2, everything came down to the final game.
Farida stayed focused during the decisive moments and secured an 11-8 win, completing a hard-fought 3-2 victory to reach the final.
Strong Egyptian Presence
Egypt entered the Silicon Valley tournament with 12 players, including five men and seven women, highlighting the country's strong representation at the event.
The men's lineup included Mohamed Zakaria, Karim Abdel Gawad, Adam Hawal, Yehia Elnawasany and Karim El Torkey.
In the women's competition, Egypt was represented by Nour El Sherbini, Farida Mohamed, Salma Hany, Nour Aboulmakarim, Nardine Garas, Haya Ali and Sana Ibrahim.
Among the Egyptian participants, Zakaria and Farida have successfully reached the final stage, keeping the country's hopes of winning two titles alive.
Zakaria will look to build on his impressive semifinal victory over ElShorbagy, while Farida hopes to carry the confidence gained from her five-game battle into the championship match.
With the tournament scheduled to conclude on October 25, attention now turns to the two finals as Egyptian squash fans hope to celebrate a double triumph in Silicon Valley.
