Egypt End Futsal AFCON Campaign With Bronze After 8–1 Win Over Algeria

Egypt's national futsal team finished its campaign at the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Morocco by winning the bronze medal following an impressive victory over Algeria in the third-place playoff on Wednesday, October 21.
The Pharaohs delivered a strong attacking performance against Algeria, ending their continental campaign on a positive note after missing out on a place in the final following their semifinal defeat to hosts Morocco.
Eight Goals Secure Bronze for Egypt
Egypt entered the match against Algeria determined to recover from their semifinal disappointment and quickly took control of the game through organized play and fast attacking movements.
The Egyptian players created several scoring opportunities and showed clear attacking superiority, scoring eight goals to secure third place in the tournament.
The victory came after Egypt suffered a 6-1 defeat against Morocco in the semifinals, allowing the team to finish the competition with a positive result and a bronze medal.
Strong Preparation Supports Egypt's Success
Before the tournament, Egypt completed a preparation program that included six friendly matches across July, August, and September.
These games helped improve the players' fitness, teamwork, and overall readiness.
In July, Egypt played two matches against Gharbia, winning 8-1 and 4-0.
The team then faced Tanzania twice in August and recorded two more victories, winning 6-0 and 5-0.
In September, the Pharaohs traveled to Algeria for a training camp that included two friendly matches against the Algerian national team.
Egypt won the first match 6-3 in Tlemcen before securing another victory in Oran with a 5-1 result.
These friendly matches gave Egypt valuable preparation ahead of the African tournament and allowed the players to gain experience against different opponents.
By finishing third, Egypt ended its Africa Futsal Cup of Nations campaign with a bronze medal, providing motivation ahead of future competitions as the team continues working to improve its performances and challenge for continental titles.
