Egypt's U17 national team, featuring players born in 2009, continues its preparations for the Gulf Cup semifinals in Doha, Qatar.

The Young Pharaohs remain focused on their upcoming match despite suffering a major setback following an injury to defender Yassin Tamer, who plays for Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Egypt, with the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar less than a month away.

Tamer's expected recovery period has raised serious doubts about whether he will be available for the international tournament.

Egypt has delivered impressive performances throughout the Gulf Cup, winning all four group-stage matches to finish at the top of its group with a perfect record and secure a place in the semifinals.

Yassin Tamer Injury Creates Problems for Egypt

Yassin Tamer suffered a foot injury during Egypt's match against Iraq, which ended in a convincing 5-0 victory for the Young Pharaohs.

Medical examinations later confirmed that the young defender had sustained a small fracture in his foot.

According to the team's medical staff, Tamer will need between four and six weeks to recover, putting his participation in the FIFA U17 World Cup in serious doubt, as the tournament is scheduled to begin just 23 days after the injury announcement.

Egypt's players showed their support for their injured teammate and wished him a quick recovery, hoping to see him return to action as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, head coach Hussein Abdel Latif and his staff are working on possible solutions to deal with the defender's absence and maintain the team's defensive strength ahead of the decisive matches.

Egypt Prepare for Gulf Cup Semifinals

In other developments, Egypt's coaching staff has introduced a special recovery program to help players regain their fitness after a demanding group-stage campaign.

The program included light gym exercises and swimming pool recovery sessions designed to reduce muscle fatigue and prepare the players for their next challenge.

The sessions were supervised by Dr.

Amr Taha, head of the medical staff, alongside Dr.

Mohamed El Sheshtawy, a rehabilitation and sports injury consultant, and Ahmed Mamdouh, the team's massage specialist.

The players are scheduled to have a rest day on Wednesday before returning to training ahead of the semifinal.

Egypt is waiting to discover its next opponent, as the Young Pharaohs will face the second-placed team from Group A, which includes the UAE, China, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

The semifinal is scheduled for Sunday, November 1.

Dr.

Walid Darwish, a board member of the Egyptian Football Association and head of the national team delegation, congratulated the players and coaching staff on their impressive results.

He also encouraged the team to maintain its strong performances, continue winning, and make the most of the remaining matches.

The Gulf Cup represents an important part of Egypt's preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup, giving the coaching staff an opportunity to assess the players, test different tactical options, and improve the team's overall performance.

Despite the setback caused by Tamer's injury, Egypt hopes to continue its winning run, reach the Gulf Cup final, and build further confidence ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
