Al Ahly have officially enforced financial penalties against their first-team players following a disappointing 3-3 draw with Al Qanah, deducting 15% from the October salaries of everyone who took part in the match.

The decision comes after growing frustration within the club over the team's recent performances, particularly after conceding three goals against Al Qanah.

The management believes stronger measures are needed to improve discipline and help the players return to their expected level.

Salary Deductions

Al Ahly players who featured against Al Qanah discovered that the financial penalties had already been applied when their October salaries were deposited into their bank accounts on Monday.

The 15% deduction affected every player who appeared in the match, including both starters and substitutes, showing that the club's management intends to hold all players accountable.

According to reports, the decision followed discussions involving club president Mahmoud El Khatib, vice president Yassin Mansour, and board member Sayed Abdel Hafeez.

Football director Wael Gomaa was then responsible for informing the players about the penalties and explaining the management's position.

The club's officials were particularly disappointed with the defensive mistakes made against Al Qanah, which contributed to the draw and raised concerns about the team's overall performance.

Victory Changes Nothing

Al Ahly's impressive 4-0 victory over Uganda's Kitara in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 32 did not change the management's decision.

Although the Egyptian side secured qualification for the group stage with a 6-1 aggregate victory, club officials decided to proceed with the salary deductions.

The management believes that winning an important African match should not erase the mistakes made in previous games, especially as the team looks to maintain consistent performances throughout the season.

Following the Al Qanah draw, Wael Gomaa also held a meeting with the players in the presence of Moroccan head coach Hussein Ammouta.

During the meeting, Gomaa stressed the importance of improving performances, maintaining focus, and taking responsibility on the pitch.

He also made it clear that every player must show greater commitment and work harder to meet the club's expectations.

Through these measures, Al Ahly's management hopes to send a strong message that discipline and consistent performances are just as important as winning matches.

The coaching staff will now look to turn the situation into a positive response, encouraging the players to correct their mistakes and deliver better results during a crucial period of the season.
