Nice continued their impressive run of form in Ligue 1 with a convincing 5–2 victory over Rennes at the Allianz Riviera on Friday evening, in Matchday 9 of the French league season.
Egyptian defender Mohamed Abdelmonem played the full 90 minutes as Nice secured another important victory, recording their fourth win in their last five league matches.
The result highlighted Nice's strong recovery after an inconsistent start to the campaign, with the hosts delivering an exciting attacking performance in a match featuring seven goals.

Nice made a strong start and opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Elye Wahi successfully converted a penalty to give the home side an early advantage.
However, Rennes responded almost immediately, with Sebastian Szymanski finding the equalizer in the 15th minute to bring the visitors back into the contest.
Nice continued to push forward and regained the lead in the 34th minute after receiving another penalty.
Wahi stepped up once again and scored his second goal of the evening.
The hosts extended their advantage just before halftime when Jonathan Clauss found the net in the second minute of added time, sending Nice into the break with a comfortable 3–1 lead.

The second half continued at a high tempo, with another goal arriving in the 52nd minute as both teams maintained their attacking approach.
Another penalty resulted in a goal in the 58th minute, while Rennes had an effort ruled out for offside in the 70th minute.
Wahi completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute, scoring his third goal of the match and helping Nice secure an impressive 5–2 victory.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Abdelmonem started in Nice's defensive lineup alongside players including Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Hicham Boudaoui, Sofiane Diop, and Jonathan Clauss.
