‘Nothing Compares to This Win’.. Dodo Celebrates Engagement to Al Ahly’s Tamara Nader After Club World Handball Title

Egyptian handball star Ahmed Hesham, widely known as "Dodo," has enjoyed two special celebrations within just a few days.
The Veszprém player celebrated his engagement to Tamara Nader El Sayed, a member of Al Ahly's women's basketball team, shortly after winning the IHF Men's Club World Championship with the Hungarian club.
The engagement added another happy moment to an already memorable week for the Egyptian international, who had just celebrated an important world title before sharing news of his personal milestone with his followers.
Engagement Celebration
Ahmed Hesham Dodo shared the first photos from his engagement celebration on his social media accounts.
He accompanied the pictures with a short message expressing his happiness, describing the occasion as a victory that could not be compared with any other achievement.
The celebration came shortly after Veszprém secured the Club World Championship title, giving Dodo two reasons to celebrate in both his professional and personal life.
His fiancée, Tamara Nader El Sayed, plays basketball for Al Ahly's women's team, while Dodo represents Egypt internationally in handball and currently plays professionally for Hungarian club Veszprém.
Their engagement brings together two athletes from different sports, attracting attention as the photos appeared shortly after Dodo's success on the international stage.
An Egyptian Final
Before celebrating his engagement, Dodo helped Veszprém win the 2026 IHF Men's Club World Championship, which was held in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.
The Hungarian club defeated Spanish giants Barcelona 42-33 in the final on Thursday, October 1, securing its second title in the competition's history.
The match featured a strong Egyptian presence, with four Egyptian players representing Veszprém: Ahmed Hesham Dodo, Yehia Elderaa, Ali Zein, and Ahmed Adel.
The Hungarian team was led by Spanish head coach Xavier Pascual, who also serves as Egypt's national handball team coach.
Meanwhile, Egyptian international Seif Elderaa represented Barcelona, creating a special moment in the final as he faced his brother Yehia Elderaa, who played for Veszprém.
Dodo's achievements went beyond winning the trophy.
The International Handball Federation also selected him for the tournament's All-Star Team as the best left back, recognizing his performances throughout the competition.
With a world championship title, an individual award, and his engagement to Tamara Nader El Sayed, Ahmed Hesham Dodo has enjoyed a memorable start to October, celebrating important moments both on and off the court.
