Egypt Win Eight Golds on Opening Day of Arab Youth Kung Fu Championships

Egypt's national Wushu Kung Fu team made an impressive start to the seventh Arab Youth and Junior Wushu Kung Fu Championship in Tunisia, winning nine medals on the opening day, including eight gold medals and one silver.

The strong results highlighted Egypt's early success in the competition and its ambition to collect more medals in the coming rounds.

Athletes from 10 Arab countries are taking part in three competitions: the seventh Arab National Teams Championship for youth in Sanda and Taolu, the seventh Arab Clubs Championship for different age groups, and the first Arab Youth Duan Bing Championship.

Egypt is represented by a delegation of 70 male and female athletes from the national team and seven Egyptian clubs.

The participating clubs are 6th of October Sporting Club, Alexandria Military Institution, Haikstep Military Institution, Alexandria Petroleum Club, National Bank Club in Giza, El Bitash Club, and Ahly El Mellaha Club in Alexandria.

Eight Gold Medals

Egyptian athletes delivered outstanding performances in the Sanda competitions, winning eight gold medals and one silver across several weight categories.

In the junior division, Malek Mohamed Adel Mohamed claimed gold in the 39 kg category, while Yazan Ahmed Mohamed Abdo secured another gold medal in the 48 kg category.

The youth division also brought more success for Egypt, as Hamza Osama Abdel Moneim won gold in the 48 kg event, Mohamed Medhat Ezzat finished first in the 52 kg category, and Omar Mohamed Fathy earned gold in the 56 kg competition.

Egypt's female athletes also played an important role in the team's success.

Nadine Ahmed Abdel Wahed won the gold medal in the girls' 48 kg youth category, while Rehab Hassan Othman secured gold in the 52 kg event.

Eman Mohie El Din Ali added another gold medal in the 60 kg category.

Egypt's ninth medal came through Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Halim Morad, who claimed silver in the junior 52 kg competition.

These results brought Egypt's opening-day total to nine medals, giving the delegation a strong start to the championship.

Nine More Finals

Egypt will have more opportunities to increase its medal total after nine additional athletes qualified for the finals in their respective weight categories.

In the junior division, Malek Abdel Rahman Abdel Hamid advanced to the 45 kg final, while Adam Mohamed Abdel Aziz reached the 56 kg final.

Mariam Ehab Fathy also qualified for the girls' 39 kg final, alongside Mariam Omar Abdel Rahman in the 45 kg category and Malak Abdel Hady Attia in the 48 kg event.

In the youth division, Marwan Osama Abdel Aal secured a place in the 60 kg final, while Mostafa Ibrahim Mostafa advanced to the 65 kg final.

Yassin Mohamed Moussa also qualified for the 70 kg final, giving Egypt another chance to compete for gold.

The list of finalists was completed by Jomana Mohamed Abdel Latif, who reached the girls' 56 kg youth final.

With nine athletes preparing for their final matches, the Egyptian delegation has several opportunities to add more gold medals to its impressive opening-day results.

Egypt's early success reflects the strong performances of both male and female athletes across the junior and youth categories.

The team will now aim to maintain its momentum in the remaining competitions, turn more final appearances into gold medals, and finish the Arab championship in Tunisia with the highest possible number of podium finishes.
