Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids and ZED: African Fixtures and Dates

Egypt's four representatives are preparing for an important round of African club football, with Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids FC and ZED FC set to play their CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup matches on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17, 2026.
All four clubs will compete in the first legs of the second preliminary round, also known as the Round of 32, as they look to secure positive results and take another step toward the next stage.
Zamalek and Pyramids will represent Egypt in the CAF Champions League, while Al Ahly and ZED will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Champions League Tests
Pyramids FC will begin the Egyptian clubs' fixtures on Friday, October 16, when they travel to South Sudan to face El Merriekh Bentiu at Juba International Stadium.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 PM Cairo time, with Pyramids hoping to secure a positive away result before the second leg.
The return match will take place on Saturday, October 24, at Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, starting at 8:00 PM.
Later on Friday, Zamalek will face Rwanda's APR FC at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 PM Cairo time.
Zamalek will be looking to deliver a strong away performance and avoid any setbacks that could make the return fixture more difficult.
The second leg is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at Cairo International Stadium, beginning at 8:00 PM.
Both Egyptian teams will be aiming to build an advantage in their opening matches before returning home to fight for qualification to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
Confederation Cup Challenges
The African action will continue on Saturday, October 17, when Al Ahly begin their CAF Confederation Cup campaign against Uganda's Kitara FC in the first leg of the Round of 32.
Al Ahly will travel to Uganda hoping to make a strong start and return with a favorable result before hosting the Ugandan side in Cairo on October 25.
Meanwhile, ZED FC will take on Tanzania's Azam FC on Saturday, October 17, in another important Confederation Cup encounter.
ZED enter the match with high ambitions as they continue their first African campaign after successfully progressing through the opening preliminary round.
The Egyptian side will be determined to produce a strong performance and secure a result that improves its chances of reaching the next stage.
These four matches represent an important opportunity for Egyptian football, with each club looking to take a major step toward qualification before the decisive second-leg fixtures.
Egyptian supporters will be watching closely, hoping to see Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids and ZED continue their African journeys and strengthen the country's presence in both continental competitions.
