Al Ahly Take Drastic Action.. Payments Frozen and Double Penalties Imposed After Al Qanah Draw

Al Ahly have entered a new phase of strict disciplinary action after their dramatic 3-3 draw against Al Qanah sparked frustration inside the club.
The management has moved to introduce tough measures against the players in an attempt to stop the team's recent decline and return to winning ways.
The decisions follow another two dropped points in the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly faced Al Qanah on Wednesday at Cairo International Stadium in Matchweek 7, with defensive mistakes allowing their opponents to score three goals.
Financial Penalties and Wael Gomaa's Strong Warning
Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa has decided to impose double financial penalties on the players.
At the same time, club officials are moving to suspend all outstanding payments to the first-team squad, with additional punishments expected for certain players who have failed to perform at the required level.
Gomaa held a lengthy meeting with the squad on Thursday morning, attended by Moroccan head coach Hussein Ammouta, to discuss the reasons behind the team's poor technical and physical performances.
The meeting focused on why several experienced players have been performing below expectations despite having the ability and experience to deliver much better results.
Gomaa made it clear that every player must take responsibility for the team's performances.
He stressed that the coming period requires complete focus and commitment, and that playing time must be earned through performances rather than reputation or past achievements.
The measures are part of the club's efforts to restore discipline in the dressing room and prevent the repeated mistakes that have cost Al Ahly important league points.
The names of the players facing additional punishments have not yet been announced.
However, reports indicate that the management and coaching staff are reviewing individual performances to identify the main problems and find solutions.
Ammouta Plans Changes Ahead of Kitara Clash
On the technical side, Hussein Ammouta is considering changes to Al Ahly's starting lineup in the coming matches.
He could also give opportunities to younger players and squad members who have not played regularly, hoping to increase competition and improve the team's overall performance.
These plans follow a difficult match against Al Qanah, in which Al Ahly took the lead through Omar El Saei in the 18th minute before Mahmoud Shalata equalized in the 31st minute.
Achraf Bencharki restored Al Ahly's lead shortly before halftime, but Hazem Abu Senna brought Al Qanah level again in the 54th minute.
Mahmoud Hamdy Zaki then scored Al Qanah's third goal in the 80th minute, putting Al Ahly close to defeat.
However, Achraf Dari rescued the Red Devils with a dramatic equalizer in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
The match exposed defensive problems that need urgent attention, as Al Ahly failed to protect their lead on two occasions, increasing pressure on both the players and coaching staff.
Meanwhile, Ammouta and his staff have temporarily shifted their attention away from the domestic league to prepare for the second leg against Uganda's Kitara in the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32.
Al Ahly secured a 2-1 away victory in the first leg and will now look to use their advantage, along with home support, to secure qualification for the next round.
The team will also be determined to avoid repeating the defensive mistakes seen against Al Qanah.
The latest decisions have placed Al Ahly's players under serious pressure.
The challenge is no longer simply about winning matches, but also about rebuilding confidence and delivering performances that meet the expectations of the club and its supporters.
With more difficult fixtures approaching, the management and coaching staff are hoping that stronger discipline and tactical changes will help Al Ahly return to their best form.
